Bonanza Specific Training: Additional Details

General information.
The 2-day Bonanza training is designed for the proficient pilot. The goal is to provide unique, Bonanza-specific training not generally available. All instrument rated pilots who do not require an
an Instrument Proficiency Check for instrument currency according to FAA requirements will be signed
off for instrument currency at the end of the 2-day session.

Depending on individual ability, pilots will also be eligible for a Flight Review and, if appropriate, an
Instrument Proficiency Check sign off upon completion of the 2-day session.

The session is not designed for pilots who have been inactive or are not reasonably current and wish to regain currency. Contact us to arrange this type of currency training. For pilots who need extra training on the use of certain GPS units, an optional half day session can be arranged before the main 2-day session. Transition training (for those moving up to a Bonanza) is also available."

Local arrangements.
PaThe Atlantis Casino Resort Sparticipants are advised to plan to fly to Reno Stead airport (4SD) and rent a car.
The Atlantis Casino Resort, located minutes away in downtown Reno, offers FlyRenoIFR customers a special discount rate for rooms in the Luxury Tower with access to the Health Spa & Fitness Center. Contact FlyRenoIFR for Corporate Connection details or call the Atlantis directly at 1-888-805-4610 or 775-335-4553 and reference FlyReno's Corporate Connection number 11940.

Dual controls.
Federal aviation regulations prohibit flight training (except instrument training) in aircraft without fully functioning dual controls. This means that you and your local CFI are likely to be in violation if he gives you a flight review and you have a throw-over yoke. Lee Elson, CFII, has an exemption from this rule. This exemption comes with some restrictions.  Contact us for more information.

Insurance.
For each airplane used for instruction, it is necessary for the airplane owner to provide a certificate of insurance listing Lee Elson as an Approved Pilot with a Waiver of Subrogation. This is necessary even in those cases where Lee will instruct with the airplane owner acting as pilot-in-command. Most insurance companies welcome this type of instruction and do not charge for this service.

Weather.
Reno generally has good flying weather; however, high winds and turbulence or storms can inhibit flight training.  For situations where weather limits flight training, additional training will be provided in the
advanced aviation training device. In addition, flight training can be re-scheduled for a later date for a small additional charge ($100).

Cancellations.
All fees are non-refundable. If a pilot is unable to attend a session, he/she can re-schedule for a later date
for a small additional charge ($100).
