2-Day Bonanza Recurrent
Training Session
May 24-25, 2008* May 31- June 1, 2008* Lee Elson, Bonanza owner and CFII, and Ed Rathje of FlyRenoIFR are pleased to announce a special 2-day training session for Bonanza 33/35/36 owner/pilots. This Bonanza-specific training will consist of time in the FlyRenoIFR Elite iGATE 501 advanced aviation training device (AATD) as well as in each pilot's Bonanza. The AATD will be configured as an A36 Bonanza. The training will involve 4 pilots and 2 instructors. The pilots will train in pairs, switching between observing and flying. Each pair of pilots will spend 8 hours in the AATD, 4 hours in ground instruction and 4 hours in their airplanes. The AATD sessions will cover these topics related to proficient VFR and IFR operation, including single-pilot IFR and emergency procedures that are best not done in an airplane. The airplane sessions will include both flight training and a ground school covering these topics unique to owning and operating a Bonanza. Training will be tailored to the needs of each pilot and the specific configuration of each airplane and its avionics. The cost of this special training program is $695 per pilot. This cost does not include lodging, food, ground transportation or airport fees. All flight training will be carried out at Reno Stead airport (4SD) and all AATD training will be nearby Stead field. Stead is close to Reno, an area with many vacation options.
